P1.6M shabu, guns seized in two days

Policemen seized P1.6 million worth of suspected shabu and two unlicensed firearms in separate police operations in Negros Island Region.

Alias “JanJan” was arrested by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit at Purok Paraiso in Barangay Banago, Bacolod City on Thursday, Feb. 12.

His arrest yielded an estimated 130 grams of suspected shabu valued at P884,000.

In Victorias City, alias “Popi” and his live-in partner alias “Mar” were arrested and found possessing 110 grams of suspected shabu worth P748,000 in a buy-bust at Ditching Subdivision in Barangay 5 on Feb. 10.

Meanwhile, operatives recovered a caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing four ammunition and a caliber .38 revolver with five ammunition during the implementation of a search warrant in Barangay Capalasanan, Lazi, Siquijor on Thursday.

The operation resulted in   the arrest of alias “Patet”, 61, a swing operator at Cambughay Falls.

The suspect was reported to have been involved in illegal discharge of firearms, causing fear among residents in the neighborhood. | GB
