The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod has passed a resolution Nov. 8 authorizing Atty. Allyn Luv Dignadice, who was designated by Mayor Alfredo Benitez as officer-in-charge of the City Administrator’s Office, as alternate signatory to sign/countersign all documents and checks of various bank accounts of the City.

This is pending the appointment of the new city administrator following the resignation of Atty. Pacifico Maghari III Nov. 1, after one year and four months of service.

In Memorandum 0174 dated Nov. 3, Benitez designated Dignadice, assistant city administrator, as OIC of the office “effective immediately upon receipt of this memorandum”.

“You shall exercise and perform the duties, responsibilities and functions attached to your designation as OIC of the City Administrator’s Office,” the mayor told Dignadice.

Benitez earlier said he already had a shortlist of the possible successor of Maghari, adding he will announce the next administrator on Nov. 15.

He said the next administrator should be “somebody that I can work with, day and night…and has my complete trust and confidence”.

Benitez, in a city press release, had expressed his gratitude and admiration for the service rendered by Maghari, adding that the latter’s decision to resign due to family-related concerns “had been under consideration for the past two months”. | CGC
