Octogenarian couple dies in Bacolod fire

An Octogenarian couple died when a fire razed their residence at Turquoise Street, City Heights Subdivision in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City past 4 a.m. Monday, June 30.

The Bacolod Fire Station identified the fatalities as Edison Lopez Hibionada, 80, and Emelyn Genosa Hibionada, 81.

Reports said that the remains of Edison, who was bedridden, was found in the living room, while Emelyn was discovered in the dining area.

The fire that reached first alarm was declared under control at 4:32 a.m., and damage was initially estimated at P3 million, the BFP said. ||
