The bounty for the arrest of elusive New People’s Army hitman, Roger Fabillar, with aliases of Arnel Tapang, Jhong and Nono, has been raised from P500,000 to P900,000.

Fabillar faces murder charges, in connection with the summary executions of Lalong punong barangay Benjamin Javoc, as well as of Renato Estrebillo and Rodel Nobleza, in Brgy. Marcelo, Calatrava last year.

In a statement, Lt. Col. JJ Javines, 79th Infantry Battalion commander, said that Fabillar was also identified by witnesses as among the rebel remnants of the dismantled Northern Negros Front, who killed kagawad Benito Hubahib Feb. 24 in Brgy. Cambayobo, Calatrava.

Javines said the increase of P400,000 in the cash reward offered by some private individuals was an offshoot of an encounter April 6 between the 79IB troopers and a group of rebels in adjacent Sitio Siraje, Brgy. San Isidro, Toboso.

Fabillar was reported as the leader of the rebel remnants operating in the hinterlands of Calatrava and Toboso in northern Negros./GB
