And the psy war continues.

The Rachelle Mae Palang Command of the New People’s Army belied claims made by the military that it had dismantled the South East Front of the Komiteng Rehiyonal Negros/Cebu/Bohol/Siquijor.

Rebel spokesperson Estrella Banagbanag issued a statement saying that the military failed to wipe out any NPA unit in southeast Negros.

It has not even seized a single encampment nor captured cadres and rebel commanders, Banagbanag said.

Lt. Gen. Robert Ancan, AFP Central Command chief, recently conferred the 11th Infantry Battalion with an award for supposedly “dismantling the South East Negros Front of the CPP-NPA”.

Bangbanag claimed that RMPC units employed guerilla tactics to elude engagements versus the military and launched appropriate actions according to the rebels’ capacity.

She reported that RMPC units, amid the series of military operations were able to conduct three punitive actions against intelligence operatives and military guides during combat operations.

Banagbanag also claimed that the operations of the Philippine Army did not deter rebel forces to advance its work in the ideological, political and organizational fields.

While military operations were raging, she said five batches of Basic Party Courses attended by more than 50 new party recruits were clandestinely held, even in areas where soldiers were operating nearby.

Banagbanag also claimed that the membership to their mass organizations expanded by about 10 percent, while party membership increased by seven percent.*GB
