The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office and Bacolod City Police Office got a total augmentation of 40 police officers from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-6.

They were among the 247 police officers downloaded by the Police Regional Office-6 to the different provincial and highly-urbanized police units in Western Visayas to augment their manpower strength.

These personnel were distributed to Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Antique, Aklan, Capiz and Guimaras Police Provincial Offices as well as Bacolod and Iloilo City Police Offices.

Negros Occidental, Aklan and Capiz as well as Bacolod got 20 additional personnel each.

Iloilo Province received 35 while 132 were assigned to Iloilo City.

PLt. Col. Arnel Solis, police regional spokesman, said that the ICPO got a greater chunk in the distribution in preparation for the activation of additional police stations in Iloilo City.

These downloaded personnel will supplement the current strength of the receiving police units, boost their respective personnel capability, and enhance and support the delivery of security and public safety services, Solis said.

In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, police regional director, reminded the 247 police personnel to stay motivated and perform their job well with utmost integrity, dedication and professionalism.

“You are there to help the police stations in intensifying their crime prevention and solution efforts. Additionally, endeavor to keep the people feel safe in your areas of responsibility,” Wanky said, as he also cautioned them from seeking any political patronage when it comes to assignment.

“We are quick in giving awards and recognition to performing Philippine National Police personnel, but we will be unforgiving to those found breaking the rules of the organization and to those engaging in illegal activities,” he added. | GB
