NegOcc inoculates 24% of target in 2-day NVD

Only 24 percent, or 30,445 of the targeted 128, 848 residents, had been vaccinated in Negros Occidental during the third round of the National Vaccination Day (NVD) Feb. 10 and 11, the Provincial Health Office reported.

The north central local government units, under the 3rd District, achieved a 30.20 percent accomplishment, or 7,473 of the 24,812 target. Talisay City topped the list, with 3,450 of the 5,272 targeted for vaccination for first, second, and booster doses.

The southern Negros LGUs inoculated 26.58 percent or 6,536 of the 24,343 target for the whole 6th District covering two cities and four municipalities. Kabankalan City topped the number of inoculated persons at 2,783 out of 8,236.

Talisay City has the most number of residents vaccinated in the 3rd District during the simultaneous 2-day national vaccination rollout.

The midland LGUs under the 4th District got 24.92 percent, or inoculated 4,892 out of 19,376 residents. Bago City is the top performing LGU, after it administered anti-COVID vaccines to 2,430 of the 8,253 in the two days of the NVD initiated by the Department of Health.

The south central LGUs logged a 22.47 percent output, or 4,892 residents vaccinated out of the 21,776, in one city and five municipalities. Himamaylan City has the most number of residents vaccinated at 2,709 out of 5,016 eyed for inoculation.

The CASAMA district, comprised of Sagay, Cadiz, and Manapla, recorded a 19.73 percent output, equivalent to 3,464 out of 17,559 target residents. Cadiz City has the highest number of persons vaccinated.

The 1st District LGUs, comprised of two cities and three municipalities, inoculated 3,125 persons from the 20,482 eyed for vaccination.

Aside from the city and town health offices, seven provincial government-run hospitals also joined the NVD, and administered jabs to 606 persons.

The vaccination output will be added to the number of persons already vaccinated in Negros Occidental, which stood at 63 percent, as of last week. — MML
