An economic development collaboration and travel expo between Negros Occidental and Guam was discussed during the recent visit by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson to the US territory.

Lacson, accompanied by Consul General Patrick John Hilado, head of the Philippine Consulate in Guam, Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, Provincial Information Officer Charina Magallanes–Tan, and Provincial Tourism Officer Cheryl Decena, met with officials of the Guam Economic Development Authority (GEDA), led by Edward Camacho.

GEDA, a public corporation created by law on August 21, 1965, provides centralized direction, control, and supervision of an integrated plan for the economic development of Guam through its programs and offerings, which include public finance services, business and investment assistance and incentives programs, and real property management.

Lacson was the guest of honor and speaker during the Guam Independence Day celebration on June 8.

Lacson also met with officials of the Guam Visitors Bureau in Tumon, led by Vice President Gerald S.A. Perez, and discussed the possibility of a travel expo between the province and Guam./GB
