The proponents of the Joint Venture Agreement between Ceneco and Primelectric Holdings Inc. have reached out to former Negros Occidental governor Rafael Coscolluela, who served as provincial consultant for Energy, Environment and Natural Resources, to clear issues and concerns regarding the JVA.
“We took it upon ourselves to come and to know the issues, instead of hearing from third parties. I rather hear it from him (Coscolluela),” MORE Power president Roel Castro said.
After his meeting with Coscolluela, Castro said some issues have been clarified “although not substantive yet”.
“He is not saying that he is against the JVA per se, he wants to know more about JVA,” Castro said of his meeting with Coscolluela.
He added that the former governor was “open-minded”.
Castro also said that Coscolluela wants to know more about the contents of the JVA and how it will be implemented, given the problems that Ceneco is facing right now.
“I did not come to convince him to support the JVA. I came here to clarify issues,” Castro stressed./GB
