Twenty-five Victorias residents received P5,000 each in medical aid, while 80 students were granted P2,000 of educational support, during the payout initiated by the City Social Welfare and Development Office, in collaboration with the Provincial Treasurer’s Office, at Don Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Arts and Cultural Center recently.
It was funded by Board Member Richard Julius Sablan, and was proof of ongoing efforts to promote the welfare of the community, the city said Oct. 28.
Under the leadership of City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) officer Joy Reunir, the program aims to provide essential support to those in need, and addresses not only the immediate needs but also strengthens the city’s resolve to improve the quality of life for all residents of Victorias.
The local government, meanwhile, conducted a validation and verification activity in the distribution of unclaimed UCT-Listahan and UCT-Socpen cash cards from the Land Bank of the Philippines, to eligible beneficiaries, held at the Victorias City Coliseum early this month.
The validation and verification of cash cards are crucial steps in ensuring that assistance reaches those who need it most, reinforcing the city’s dedication to social welfare and support for its constituents.
The event brought together 1,357 Victoriasanons, ensuring that those entitled to receive the cash assistance could claim their benefits, the city said. ||
