The Victorias City government initiated a children’s cultural show as part of the National Children’s Month culmination recently.
Themed “Break the Prevalence, End the Violence: Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines!”, the event showcased the exceptional talents and skills of Victoriasanon children through cultural performances and competitions at the Don Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Arts and Cultural Center Nov. 28.
In the interpretative dance contest among public elementary schools, the Victorias Elementary School of Cluster I claimed first place, Don Jose Gaston Elementary School of Cluster IV, second place, and the Villa Victorias Elementary School of Cluster III secured the third spot.
High school students also competed in bench cheering, with Victorias National High School winning first place, Barangay Estado National High School placing second, and Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias Integrated School finishing third, the city said Dec. 2.
Dr. Richelle Verdrepado Mangga, a registered social worker, served as keynote speaker and stressed the importance of protecting children and fostering their potential.
Councilor Teresita Sta. Ana Bartolome, meanwhile, highlighted the city’s commitment to supporting programs that nurture the talents and abilities of Victoriasanon children.
The event was made possible through the collaboration of the City Social Welfare and Development Office, headed by Joy Reunir, and the Schools Division of Victorias City, led by schools division superintendent Portia Mallorca.
