Gustilo said it is standard operating procedure of the city government to dismiss employees from their jobs if they tested positive for use of illegal drugs.

The mayor encouraged those dismissed from their jobs to undergo spiritual counselling and seminar initiated by a Church-based organization in San Carlos City, to have the chance of getting re-hired.

The city government conducts random drug testing annually to ensure that none of its employees is hooked into illegal drugs, Gustilo said.

He added that the dismissed JOs were assigned at the Bantay Dagat, City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office and City Environment Office.

Mayor Gustilo also said that they are waiting for the results of another drug testing conducted among the city hall employees on July 30, that is expected to be released this week. – GB
