12-hr brownout in Bacolod, Bago

The Central Negros Electric Cooperative announced this afternoon, Sept. 7, a power outage from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 12, that will affect several areas of Bacolod City and Bago City in Negros Occidental.

The Ceneco advisory said the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines will shut down its 100MVA Power Transformer No. 1 at the Bacolod substation.

“To avoid overloading of the remaining 100MVA Power Transformer Number 2, NGCP is scheduling a power service interruption that will affect the Alijis, Murcia, Sum-ag and Lag-asan substations of Ceneco,” it added.

Areas to be affected include the Bacolod-San Enrique 69kV Transmission Line, including SF1, SF2, HF1, HF2, HF3, and HF4; Bacolod-Alijis 69kV Transmission Line, including AF1, AF2, AF3, AF4, AF5, AF6, AF7, MUF1, and MUF2.

The NGCP will conduct interfacing and integrity testing as part of replacement of Power Circuit Breaker (PCB) at the Bacolod substation; preventive maintenance and correction of defects for the Bacolod-San Enrique 69kV line and its associated high voltage equipment, including protection and secondary devices; and correction of defects for the Bacolod-Alijis associated high voltage equipment, including protection and secondary devices, the advisory added.*
