A security guard was among the two suspects arrested in a police gun and drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Daga, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental on Aug. 8.
Police identified the suspects as alias “Quintin,” 57, who is assigned at the Cadiz District Hospital, and alias “Woodrow,” 54.
Their arrest came after they allegedly handed a caliber .38 revolver without a serial number to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for marked money.
Operatives also recovered about six grams of suspected shabu valued P40,800 from the suspects’ possession.
On Aug. 7, 11 other individuals were separately arrested by the police in the cities of Kabankalan, Himamaylan, La Carlota and Sagay as well as the municipalities of E.B. Magalona, Hinobaan, Binalbagan, and Hinigaran for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
Their arrests led to the recovery of about 59 grams of suspected shabu valued at P401,000. | GPB
