Food Stamp Program redemption in Sipalay

The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VI, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Sipalay, through its City Social Welfare Development Office, distributed the first redemption of the Walang Gutom 2027: Food Stamp Program at the Gil Montilla Gymnasium in Sipalay City recently.

The Walang Gutom 2027: Food Stamp Program (FSP) is a flagship program of the national government under Executive Order 44, series of 2023, that aims to mitigate hunger and poverty and decrease incidence of involuntary hunger experienced by low–income households.

The FSP targets the provision of food credit assistance, amounting to P3,000 per month, in the form of Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards which can be used to purchase a select list of food commodities from eligible partner retail stores.

The program’s long-term vision is to provide immediate relief and foster sustainable practices that ensure food security for future generations, the city said in a press release.
