Farmers, senior high student shot dead

Two farmers and a senior high school student were killed in separate shooting incidents on June 2 in Negros Occidental, with motives have yet to be established, the police said.

The two victims were watching a cockfight at Sitio Pitgong in Barangay Oringao, Kabankalan City, when they were shot by a certain Wangyo.

The names of the 53-year-old farmer and his 40-year-old nephew, who succumbed to multiple gunshot injuries, were withheld by the police.

Both of them were declared dead on arrival at the Lorenzo D. Zayco Memorial Hospital in Kabankalan City.

In Bacolod City, a senior high school student was gunned down Sunday night inside his residence at Barangay Granada.

The 20-year-old victim, whose identity was also withheld by the police, was playing a billiards game when he saw the suspect carrying a gun, initial investigation of the Police Station 5 of the Bacolod City Police Office showed.

The victim fled and sought refuge at his residence, where he was followed by the suspect, who fired at him inside his own room, the police said.

He was declared dead on arrival at the Metro Bacolod General Hospital. | GB
