Two exhibits – Wayfarer, and Paranoia and Wilderness – will open today, Nov. 8, at Orange Project, The Art District, in Mandalagan, Bacolod City.

“Wayfarer”, the first solo showing of Daryl Feril, is a deeply personal exhibition that traces his journey as both artist and individual. “The title evokes slow and deliberate travel—mirroring Feril’s reflections on a life shaped by movement and memory.”

The works show Feril’s growth, from a commercial illustrator to a painter, embracing color, scale, and emotional depth, the exhibit brief said.

“Drawing from a childhood marked by constant relocation, Wayfarer speaks of finding grounding despite the impermanence, a homecoming to both Bacolod and his creative beginnings at Orange Project,” it added.

The group show “Paranoia and Wilderness” explores the psyche of fear and familiarity, and features Burog Alvarado, Brandon Braza, E.S.L. Chen, Guenivere Decena, Karina Broce-Gonzaga, Jayvee Necesario, Zabiel Nemenzo, and Mikiboy Pama.

“Each artist traverses different terrains of dread, from the chaos of relationships to the sterile stillness of institutions and the depths of the human mind,” the brief said. “What begins as fear of the unknown transforms into an intimate encounter with the familiar—turning paranoia itself into a form of understanding.”

“Paranoia and Wilderness” looks into the cultural and psychological landscapes of fear in the Philippine context. Drawing from the Hiligaynon word mariit—the unease tied to the unknown wilderness—the exhibition explores how paranoia evolves in contemporary life. ||
