Two multi-purpose buildings (MPBs) in barangays Libertad and Cervantes, both in Escalante City, Negros Occidental, were recently completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Negros Occidental Sub-District Engineering Office.

The DPWH said the two-storey MPB in Libertad spans 145 square meters and is equipped with essential amenities, such as office rooms, comfort rooms, and ramps for persons with disabilities.

The MPB in Cervantes mirrors its counterpart in Libertad, also covering 145 square meters and boasting similar facilities, tailored to enhance accessibility and service delivery.

DPWH6 regional director Sanny Boy Oropel said that providing officials with spacious and convenient facilities could result in better governance and contribute to boosting employee morale and productivity.

“These structures serve as vital hubs for officials to engage with residents, disseminate information, and address concerns effectively,” Oropel said in a press release June 4, adding that the MPBs have modern amenities and facilities, providing officials with the necessary tools to carry out their duties efficiently.

The buildings also serve as landmarks of progress, symbolizing our dedication to promoting local governance and community development, he added. ||
