Dozens of children from the different barangays of Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental participated in the annual two-day Children’s Camp held in a resort, that ended July 21.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo approved the conduct of the activity, organized by the City Social Welfare and Development Office, as an avenue for the young to learn about their rights and hone their skills so they will grow imbued with the right values and become inspiring leaders of their peers and communities.
Resource speakers delivered lectures on Republic Act 11930, or the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children, the Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act, and on how to stay safe during calamities, and to be disaster-prepared, the city said in a press release.
The kids also engaged in a series of group activities and socials, designed to develop their skills and talents in theater and arts, as well as enrich their devotion to God, country, community and family. ||
