Policemen assigned to the Bacolod City Police Office and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office have seized P45,480,321 worth of illegal drugs in six months of an anti-drug campaign.

The Police Regional Office 6 reported that BCPO confiscated P24,059,589 worth of illegal drugs, while NOCPPO seized P21,420,732 worth of suspected shabu and dried marijuana leaves from Feb. 15 to Aug. 14 this year.

In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, regional police director of Western Visayas, lauded the coordinated anti-drug campaign of various PNP units in the region, and their commitment and hard work that led to these accomplishments.

“The statistics show your conviction, patience, and eagerness to cleanse the community from the menace of illegal drugs,” Wanky said.

“Despite these accomplishments, we will not cease. Instead, we will engage the community more, the local government units, and other stakeholders to intensify and strengthen our campaign,” he added.

“I urge everyone to take part in our effort to put an end to the existing problem of illegal drugs by reporting those who are involved and being a guardian of your family and your community,” the regional police director further said. | GB
