A series of buy-bust operations conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) led to the confiscation of about P3.8 million worth of suspected shabu from six arrested drug suspects in Negros Occidental over the weekend.
In Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City, PDEA operatives seized 255 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P1.7 million from two suspects, who are both ex-convicts on Sunday (Aug. 11).
Village chief Caesar Distrito said in a social media post that he had warned the two former inmates not to engage in the illegal drug trade, but they did not heed his call.
On Saturday night, the police seized about 300 grams or P2.04 million worth of suspected shabu from three arrested suspects, who are alleged members of the Bugalon Drug Group, at Purok Roadside in Barangay Tangub, also in Bacolod City.
The operation was jointly conducted by the Police Station 8 and City Intelligence Unit of the Bacolod City Police Office.
Also on Sunday, the police seized 13 grams of suspected shabu valued at 88,400 from a street level individual in Barangay 2, Silay City.
From Aug. 9 to 11, the Police Regional Office-6 reported the confiscation of 784 grams of suspected worth P5.3 million from arrested 42 suspects across Western Visayas.
Nine of them were classified as high-value individuals while 33 were categorized as street-level individuals.
