Sophomore Bachelor of Arts in English Language student Patricia Ysabel Enriquez of Carlos Hilado Memorial State University-Talisay was crowned queen during the Miss Talisay 2024 grand coronation, held at the public plaza Sept. 9, in line with the 25th Minulu-an Festival of the city.

“If you will be able to shine on your own, you will become beautiful as you are, and that way, I can be able to empower a lot of women, and also the women of Talisay,” Enriquez emphasized in her winning answer.

The question was on how to empower women, particularly in the context of beauty standards as defined by models, influencers, and celebrities on social media.

Joining her in this year’s royal court are 1st runner-up (Miss Talisay City Tourism) Queen Ann Toledo, and 2nd runner-up (Miss Talisay City Arts and Culture) Jessamae Clarisse Ronquillo.

Enriquez also received the Best in Swimwear award and four corporate awards – Miss Esthetica Rehab, Miss Rose Beau Aesthetic, Miss Active Group, and the Eng. Ebro Choice Award.

“I’ve worked really hard for this title; I’ve encountered a lot of doubts in myself if I could really achieve this kind of momentum. But with the help of all of my support systems, I really did it,” Enriquez wrote in her acknowledgment post.

Enriquez is the city’s Silver Queen and will represent Talisay at the Lin-ay sang Negros competition next year.

CHMSU general administrative support staff, Dave Ben Solidarios, also won as Best Festival Costume Designer.
