Barangay Magsaysay of Cadiz City and Bacuyangan of Hinoba-an town topped the provincial search for the Best Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) in Negros Occidental this year, in the city and town categories, respectively.
Other winners in the city category were Barangay Mailum of Bago in second place, and Barangay VI-A in Victorias, third.
Following Bacuyangan of Hinoba-an, meanwhile, were Barangay Pinawayan of Don Salvador Benedicto, second, and Mansablay in Isabela, third.
Other finalists were barangays Poblacion in Bago, Carabalan in Himamaylan, Inapoy of Kabankalan, Rizal of Silay, and Rizal of San Carlos.
The awarding ceremony for finalists and winners will be on Nov. 27, as part of the National Children’s Month celebration in the province, the Capitol said Nov. 22 as it commended these barangays for inspiring other communities to continue strengthening programs and services for Negrense children.
The city government of Cadiz, meanwhile, lauded Barangay Magsaysay for this accomplishment, which showcases commitment to safeguarding children’s welfare and rights. “May it inspire other barangays in Cadiz City to enhance programs that uplift the lives of Cadiznon and Negrense children.” ||
