The city government of Cadiz released a total of  P10 million to 5,000 college scholars in a ceremonial distribution led by  Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. at the Cadiz Arena on Saturday.

Each scholar under the Cadiz City Education Assistance Program (CCEAP) for academic year 2024-2025 received P2,000 and many of them shared interesting stories about coming from ordinary families with  dreams to finish college, have jobs, and help their families.

“This is meant for every Cadiznon, who really wishes to better his or her life through college education,” the mayor said.

Escalante said that the CCEAP, which started 23 years ago, “will always serve as a formidable vehicle to transport Cadiznons’ dreams to realities.”

“The assistance given to them could spell a lot of difference in their pursuit for college education. Thus, for 23 years since the inception of the CCEAP, Cadiz produced many professionals,” he added. ||
