The Cadiz City government has purchased ambulance-rescue vehicles for seven barangays to boost disaster and emergency response in these villages.

The beneficiaries include Barangays V.F. Gustilo, Celestino Villacin, Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 3, Zone 4 and Zone 6.

Mayor Salvador Escalante said yesterday that they are the latest of the 22 villages in Cadiz City to be equipped with such vehicles.

“Kon sang una tricyle lang ang gamiton during emergency (If we used tricycle before in emergency cases, now we provide the best and convenient facility to transport patient or any victim of disaster cases in the barangay,” Escalante said.

The brand-new vehicles also mean a brand-new approach in public service, especially on dealing with emergency cases, he added.

“In the advent of challenging times prone to various disasters, we also need to apprise our people with new services meant for their good and convenience,” Escalante said.

He added: “These vehicles will be a great reminder for Cadiz people that the city government is with them in times of disaster or emergency cases.” ||
