Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Benitez urged businessmen Jan. 2 to correctly declare their revenues, particularly the gross sales, even when renewing their business permits online.

“For the expedience and convenience of taxpayers, batunon anay as is ang application without validation. But if may makita gani nga misdeclaration (later on), we will go after you, and I’m sure you will be paying more,” Benitez said in a press conference this morning when asked about the start of the Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) operations at the Bacolod Express Service Office (BESO) at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central, and online.

The BOSS at BESO Ayala is at the third floor of the mall.

All data or documents submitted online by a taxpayer will be deemed truthful, but if the city finds any misdeclaration, then we will file criminal charges and other offenses against the erring taxpayer, the mayor stressed.

He noted that, usually, it is the gross sales being misdeclared, since a local government unit has a share in it. “Since its online, walang validation process…it’s at your own risk if may misdeclaration.”

Meanwhile, the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) of San Carlos City also started the monthlong BOSS at the ground floor of the City Hall Annex Building Jan. 2.

Owners and operators of businesses, like eateries, restaurants, financing businesses, retailing, transportation, hotels, and other general merchandise in the city may now process their business permit applications or renewal, tax payment, and issuances of cedula and other business-related requirements, the city said.

The BOSS operates Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m./CGC
