The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) will deploy 1,500 personnel for the 2026 Batang Pinoy National Championships in the city on Dec. 12-18, to secure around 35,000 delegates.

BCPO director, P/Col. Eugene Rebadomia, confirmed that police are scaling up their initial 900-personnel security plan to handle the heavy influx of young athletes, coaches, and visitors starting on Dec. 10.

Rebadomia said the BCPO will request reinforcements from the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR), alongside force multipliers and disaster response units.

He emphasized that dedicated security details will be assigned across 34 billeting sites, host schools, and accommodation areas throughout the sports meet.

The security expansion will also cover the dual opening festivities on Dec. 12, as Bacolod synchronizes the Batang Pinoy launch with the 52nd Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Parade of Stars, with celebrity Vice Ganda as a confirmed attendee. | TMD
