The Bacolod City Police Office called on anyone with any information that could be vital in solving various cases, including the 11 shooting incidents in the first seven months of this year, four of them in Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2.
“Anonymous tips are welcome and will be treated with the utmost confidentiality,” P/Lt. Col. Bonifacio Ancajas Jr., BCPO public information office, said Aug. 20.
The reward amount will be based on the gravity of the testimonies. It will range from a minimum of P20,000 to a maximum of P50,000, to be approved by Mayor Alfredo Benitez, Ancajas said in a press release.
Of the 11 shooting incidents from January to July 2024, the police already established the motive in the nine cases, and person/s of interest identified. “But the family executed an affidavit of non-interest,” Ancajas said, adding that two cases remain unsolved.
He said that P/Col. Joeresty Coronica, BCPO officer-in-charge, has directed all 10 police stations and investigative units to prioritize the resolution of cases, such as murder, rape, robbery, theft, carnapping, motor vehicle/motorcycle theft, and other sensational or significant cases.
“The Bacolod police is steadfast in its commitment to ensuring peace and order in the city by intensifying efforts to resolve unsolved cases that have concerned the community. This action comes in response to the growing need for justice and the relentless pursuit of the perpetrators of these crimes,” Ancajas stressed.
The BCPO assures the public that it will continue to uphold its duty to protect and serve with integrity and dedication, and remains resolute in its mission to deliver justice to all affected families, he added.
