BCPO recovers P2.5M in shabu

Two buy-bust operations in Bacolod City led to the apprehension of four drug suspects and the recovery of P2.5 million worth of suspected shabu.

In a report, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) said the City Drug Enforcement Unit operatives led by PLt. Richard Leada seized about 370 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1.02 million from three drug suspects in Purok Lubi, Barangay 3 on Feb. 17.

The suspects were identified by the BCPO through their aliases as “Jason”, “Charles” and “John Rey”, all residents of Barangay 3.

It was followed by another operation on Feb. 18 at Purok Gonzaga Extension in Barangay Taculing, which led to the arrest of a certain “Kenneth”, a high value individual drug personality.

His apprehension yielded about 220 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1.496 million.

All the four arrested drug suspects are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

From Feb. 10 to 16, the BCPO logged 11 police operations with 13 arrests and confiscation of P1.38 million worth of suspected illegal drugs.

Four other drug suspects were also arrested by the police in the cities of Victorias and Escalante as well as in La Castellana town on Feb. 17.

Their apprehension yielded an estimated 50 grams of suspected shabu valued at P346,460, according to police reports. | GB
