Bago is the top rice-producing city in Western Visayas for 2019.
This was revealed by City Agriculturist Carlito Indencia to Mayor Nicholas Yulo after the announcement came out earlier this week, The Citybridge posted last night.
For the third straight year (2017, 2018, 2019), the “Rice Granary of Negros Occidental” has been recognized as one of the top rice-producing local government units in the country.
Indencia is also an Agricultural Extension Worker achiever awardee and a grand slam winner for being recognized in the awards category for three straight years, too.
The Rice Achievers Awards (RAA) is an annual event of the Department of Agriculture that recognizes the efforts of outstanding rice producers in the Philippines.
It is a way of motivating and showing appreciation for institutions, groups, and individuals for their contributions in its food sufficiency thrust.
The awarding rites will be announced soon.
