The Bago City government has commended the two students from Ramon Torres National High School (RTNHS), who recently represented the Philippines and bagged the gold medal award at the 9th World Innovation Technology Challenge, held at Chongnam National University in Gwangju, South Korea.
Mayor Nicholas Yulo warmly welcomed Erichjoy Grande and Marciela Valdez, both Grade 10-Sapphire students of RTNHS-Main under the Science, Technology, and Engineering (STE) program, during their visit to his office, and congratulated them for their success, saying that the city beams with pride for their achievement.
Vice Mayor Ramon Torres and Councilor Jake Patrick Torres also presented a copy of Sangguniang Panlungsod Resolution No. 24-347 to the students, commending them for their hard work and dedication in the field of technological innovation, the city said.

The international robotics competition was held Nov. 2 and 3. The students’ research study is entitled “Dy Mission: Delve, Detect, Declare – A Multi-Device System for Comprehensive Monitoring and Data Driven Protection of Irrawaddy Dolphins in Bago City”.
The students were accompanied by RTNHS OIC principal Mary Jane Araneta, Science Department head Gemma Torres, and their coaches, RTNHS faculty head Wenceslao Narazo, Cynthia Laurente, Wendy Tingson, and Joel Lachica, during their visit to the Bago City Hall. ||
