EB Magalona, La Carlota City police chiefs now COVID-free

The police chiefs of EB Magalona and La Carlota City Police Stations, as are now back to their respective duties after they tested negative for COVID-19, following more than 14 days of isolation in various quarantine areas.

P/Capt. Wilfredo Benoman, police chief of EB Magalona, said that he and three other personnel of the town police station resumed their duties Monday (Oct. 26) after testing negative for the virus.

PLt. Wilma Silva, deputy spokesperson of the Negros Occidental, also reported that Lt. Col. Jonel Guadalope of La Carlota City re-assumed his position on Tuesday after being tested negative for COVID-19.

However, Silva said Guadalope still needs to observe another seven days of isolation in compliance with the virus prevention protocols.

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office has a total of 32 positive cases as of Oct. 27.

Of the 32 cases, Silva said they recorded 18 recoveries and 14 active cases.

Benoman, Guadalope and three others were placed under isolation at healing center for more than two weeks after getting infected by the virus.

Troopers of the 1st Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company, temporarily beefed up the manpower of the EB Magalona Police Station, while Behoman and other town policemen were placed under quarantine.

Benoman thanked Mayor Marvin Malacon, personnel of the EB Magalona Health Unit and barangay health workers, among others, for their support, while they were under isolation.
