The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod commended Althea May Bayer Benjamin, a graduate of Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod, for placing seventh in the Chemical Engineers Licensure Examination, with a rating of 84.60 percent.

“This accomplishment obtained by Benjamin has brought tremendous pride and honor to Bacolod as it inspires students from the city and around the country to aspire for excellence, through diligent study, hard work, and perseverance,” the SP said as it approved the resolution of commendation authored by Councilor Em Ang, during its session May 29.

A Bacolodnon born, raised, and residing in Barangay Banago, Benjamin has brought honor and prestige to the city, placing 7th among 640 passers out of the 928 examinees, Ang said.

The resolution, co-authored by Councilor Israel Salanga, noted that Benjamin graduated with honors during her secondary education from La Consolacion College Bacolod. She graduated Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from CSA-B.

“She has undoubtedly made a mark through her exemplary scholastic record and outstanding achievement, drive, determination and leadership; these attributes are worthy of emulation and serve as an inspiration for young people to aspire for excellence in their chosen field of endeavor,” the resolution stressed.

By recognizing the hard-earned achievements of Benjamin, we promote a culture of excellence in the city by giving credit and honor where these are due, the SP added. | CGC
