Silay City Councilor Ryan Gamboa is the incumbent PCL-Negros Occidental president. He sits as ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

Asistio is the son of 4th District Rep. Juliet Marie Ferrer.

Escalante, who is the UNegA secretary general, said that he suggested to Marañon that their political group meets with Love Negros to discuss the PCL elections, before making any announcement.

Gamboa was supported by Love Negros, where Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson is affiliated with, during the PCL-Negros Occidental elections in 2019.

UNegA members are set to meet in the second week of this month, to discuss not only the local PCL, but also that of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines provincial chapter, as well as the Association of Chief Executive elections, Escalante said./GB
