Drug suspect shot dead

Motorcycle riding men shot and killed an alleged drug personality at Purok 4 in Brgy. 4, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

          The police identified the victim as Rolyn Pillora Gutierrez, alias Nene, who was declared dead on arrival at the Himamaylan District Hospital.

          Gutierrez was the fourth alleged drug personality killed in Negros Occidental since August. Bodies of the three other victims were separately found by the police dumped in EB Magalona and Bago City.

          Maj. Romeo Vargas, Himamaylan City police chief, said that Gutierrez ranked number seven in the priority target list on illegal drugs of the city police, and a member of the Bugalon Drug Group.

          Vargas also reported that Gutierrez, 29, was linked to theft incidents in Himamaylan City and neighboring areas.

          Initial police investigations showed that the victim was driving his tricycle with Rommel Sales, 57, when the suspects, riding on a Yamaha motorcycle, overtook and shot him.

          Gutierrez succumbed to gunshot wounds on his stomach and face.

          Recovered from the scene of incident by responding Himamaylan City policemen were two fired cartridges of 45 caliber pistol.*
