Bacolod mayor-elect Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez said Wednesday, May 25, that he met with officials of the City Engineer’s Office and DBP on the proposed construction of the Bacolod Coliseum in Barangay Alijis.

Benitez said his administration plans to repurpose the Bacolod Coliseum into a cheaper and simpler convention or trade center so that the remaining budget could be realigned for the redesign or rebuilding of the city markets.

With the mayor-elect are Bacolod Congressman Greg Gasataya, councilors-elect Thaddy Sayson, Al Espino, and Jason Villarosa, Atty. Caesar Distrito, and former councilor Homer Bais./NND
