Policemen discovered two marijuana plantation sites in Purok Manguim, Brgy. Codcod, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, Nov. 29, following a tip from a confidential informant.

About 500 fully grown and new marijuana plants, weighing about 10 kilos and with an estimated market value of P38,000, were uprooted by operatives of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 6 and the Regional Intelligence Division, backed up by the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, the San Carlos City Police Station, and the Criminal Investigation Detection Group Anti-Illegal Drugs Unit.

P/Lt. Col. Arnel Solis, regional police spokesperson, said the two marijuana plantation sites have an estimated land area of 200 square meters.

He added that police officers have to walk for six hours to reach the marijuana plantation sites.

Police Regional Office 6 director, Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo, congratulated the combined PNP operatives for their dedication and commitment in the campaign against illegal drugs.

“Continue your relentless effort and we can achieve more accomplishments if we continue working as one,” he added./GB
