The Art Association of Bacolod-Negros (AAB-N) will hold the third on-the-spot MassKara painting competition on Oct. 12, and encourages artists 15 years or older, who are bonafide residents of Bacolod, to join.

AAB-N president Tey Sevilleno said the competition will be from 1-6 p.m. on Saturday at Robinsons Place Bacolod, and the theme will be announced on that day.

“The artwork should be done with figurative or representational art to convey the theme, and should be able to include the smiling MassKara face icon. Interpretation of the theme, design, and colors will be up to the artist,” she added.

A blank mask will be provided along with brushes and acrylic paints on the contest date. Contestants can also bring pencils, markers, other kinds of odorless paints, except spray paints, water cups, clean rags, and artist brushes.

The application to be an official contestant is until Oct. 11, at exactly 3 p.m., Sevilleno said.

Those interested should email their resume/bio-data and at least three photos of original works to aabnegros50@gmail.com, with MassKara Painting_Name of Contestant as subject.
