The Bacolod City Emergency Operations Center has completed the masterlist of 12 to 17 years old minors with comorbidities, in preparation for their inoculation on Nov. 5.

The rollout of vaccines for Pediatric A-3 was set after the Department of Health has given the go signal to start the vaccination of this priority group.

More vaccines arrive in Bacolod and Negros Occidental for pediatric vaccination.

The Pediatric A-3 includes children with Down syndrome, HIV, cancer, tuberculosis, and other ailments.

Those belonging to this group must have a doctor’s certificate detailing the comorbidity, a birth certificate, and must be accompanied by their parents or guardians.

Dr. Chris Sorongon, EOC deputy director for Data and Analysis, said that, for now, only a few have registered online at https:/tinyurl/.com/bcdceirminors.

He said the city government aims to vaccinate about 100,000 minors, aged 12 to 17 years old, but the inoculation of those with no comorbidity has not been set yet, and will depend on the online registration.

The EOC is coordinating with the Department of Education and private schools to intensify the campaign for pediatric vaccination. They also coordinated with the barangays for the master listing.

Sorongon said that, to date, only Moderna and Pfizer vaccines have been authorized for pediatric inoculation. – MML
