Kabankalan Mayor Pedro Zayco ordered today that the selling of plants in the city plaza every Saturday and Sunday will be temporary stopped starting tomorrow, April 10.

Zayco said this is one way to stop the surge of Covid -19 cases after the city started experiencing a spike in the infection in the last few days.

He said 50 to a hundred sellers of plants and flowers display their goods in the plaza, especially on Saturdays, and people usually flock to the place.

Zayco also ordered the removal of carts of ambulant vendors and small stalls around the plaza, every afternoon until 9 p.m.

He said the curfew hours, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., will continue, although the city is prepared to implement longer curfew hours if needed./ML
