The incidence of 41 infections in a business process outsourcing company in Bacolod City reported by city and health officials late Sunday, is an extremely serious reminders that the fight against the coronavirus is far from over.
Such reminder is more than timely, particularly amid reports of the holding of mass activities, including parties of various kinds, many of which as shown in social media posts, have breached basic health protocols.
Perhaps the knowledge that vaccines are just around the corner has prompted many to think that the virus will soon be dissipated after inoculation.

Consequently, many places in the country have been reverted to General Community Quarantine status starting Feb. 1.
And to think the variant virus is just starting to surface.
As the morbidity and mortality rates are scaling back, Negrenses and other Filipinos are grappling with the fact that the coronavirus crisis is far from over and that a more consolidated effort must be exerted to mitigate its spread.
