Here’s a piece of good news.
Active and retired personnel of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office as well as their dependents will be entitled to discounted rates at the Bacolod Queen of Mercy Hospital.
This was contained in a Memorandum of Understanding entered into Monday, Feb. 1, by and between the NOCPPO as it marked its 30th Founding Anniversary and the BQMH management at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City.
As stipulated in the MOU, active members of NOCPPO and their dependents as well as retirees can be admitted without being required an initial deposit, provincial police spokesperson, PLt. Abegael Donasco, said.
Donasco said that they are also entitled to a 10 percent discount if admitted, and 15 percent for outpatient cases.
Retired PNP members, especially the senior citizens, Donasco said will be given a 23 percent discount.
To avail of the benefits, they will only be required to present their Philippine National Police identification cards and a letter of authority from NOCPPO signed by the provincial director, she added.
Col. Romy Palgue, provincial director of NOCPPO, and BQMH board members headed by Capt. Lucio Giovanni Giron, chief executive officer-president; Dr. Evangeline Johnson, chairman; Omar Montejo, chief operating officer-administrator and Neifertiti Gosiengfiao, director, Business Development Center, were signatories to the MOU.
Johnson said that the signing of MOU is a good example of a public-private partnership, as she also acknowledged the service of NOCPPO personnel in the fight against the COVID 19 pandemic. – GB
