Three suspects in the fatal shooting of a motorcycle rider in San Enrique, Negros Occidental were arrested in a hot pursuit operation in the neighboring Bago City on Oct. 26, the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) reported on Tuesday, Oct. 27.

The victim, “Elmor,” a resident of Barangay Baliwagan, San Enrique, was shot while driving his white Honda Beat motorcycle along the national highway in Sitio Asinan, Barangay Bagonawa.

Initial police investigation showed the victim was tailed by suspects aboard a blackish-red Toyota Innova, who shot him several times before fleeing the scene.

The San Enrique police reviewed available closed-circuit television footage and coordinated with neighboring police stations to track down the suspects.

Policemen then intercepted the suspected getaway vehicle at Purok Crossing La Carlota, Barangay Don Jorge Araneta, Bago City.

This led in the arrest of three suspects identified only by their aliases “Chris,” the alleged driver, and “KM” and “Mar,” who were alleged as the gunmen.

Police recovered a semi-automatic rifle, a 9mm pistol and ammunition, as well as an improvised tooter from one of the suspects.

The suspects are now locked up the San Enrique police jail, pending the filing of appropriate charges against them in court.

PRO-NIR Director PBrig. Gen. Rudecindo Reales lauded the operating units for their prompt response and coordination, which led to the arrest of the suspects and recovery of the firearms and other evidence. | GPB
