Public cemeteries in Bacolod City will operate strictly from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. during Undas 2026, Mayor Greg Gasataya said Oct. 27, following an inter-agency coordination meeting on local holiday preparations.

The mayor said the fixed operating hours will apply to the city’s public burial grounds, including in Handumanan, Burgos, and Granada.

Gasataya added that they will issue an advisory to visitors at Burgos Cemetery to avoid the damaged perimeter wall along Lopez Jaena Street, with repair works scheduled immediately after the holiday.

The city government has aligned traffic management, cleanup drives, and police deployment across both public and private cemeteries to prevent severe road congestion.

Gasataya said that while private cemeteries manage their own maintenance, the city and the Bacolod police will provide external traffic control and security support. | TMD
