The Nueva Ecija police arrested a man wanted for sexually abusing his minor stepdaughter in Negros Oriental, during a manhunt operation in Barangay Bayanihan, Gapan City Oct. 27.
The suspect, alias “Sid”, 46, is listed as the 4th Regional Most Wanted Person of the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR).
“Sid”, of Barangay Nangka in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, had been working as a caretaker prior to his arrest.
The police said the suspect had sexually abused his stepdaughter on several occasions while the victim’s mother was away working as a housekeeper.
The suspect reportedly threatened to kill both her and her mother if she told anyone about the abuse, the police added.
The arrest was carried out by members of the Bayawan City Police Station, in coordination with the Gapan City Police Station, pursuant to warrants of arrest issued against “Sid” for Qualified Rape of a Minor, and two counts of Acts of Lasciviousness, under the Revised Penal Code.
PRO-NIR director, Brig. Gen. Rudecindo Reales, lauded the inter-unit coordination that led to the capture of the wanted fugitive.
“We will remain steadfast in pursuing wanted individuals, regardless of where they may be hiding,” Reales said. | TMD
