Killed in Live Wire AccidentA 26-year-old mechanic died after being electrocuted at a construction site in Sitio Binacay, Barangay Talacdan, Cauayan, Negros Occidental Oct. 22.
The Cauyan police said the victim, of Barangay Tinapaan, Cadiz City, was working for a construction supply, when the incident occurred at around 3 p.m. Thursday.
Police investigation revealed that a self-loading boom truck being towed by an excavator touched an overhead electrical distribution wire.
In an effort to clear the line using a rope so the heavy equipment could pass underneath, the victim climbed up but accidentally touched a live wire and suffered severe electrical shock.
The victim was rushed to the Lorenzo D. Zayco Memorial District Hospital in Kabankalan City, but he was pronounced dead on arrival by an attending physician. | TMD
