The San Carlos city government has strengthened the operational capabilities of the local police force with the turnover of two Toyota Innova patrol cars and a DJI thermal drone.

The equipment, provided by the city government under Mayor Renato Gustilo, is expected to enhance police mobility, surveillance and response to security concerns in the city.

Gustilo said the local government is committed to supporting the San Carlos City Police Station by providing resources needed to effectively carry out its peace and order and public safety responsibilities.

Meanwhile, P/Col. Dennis Wenceslao, provincial director of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, emphasized the importance of innovation and modern technology in policing.

He said advanced equipment can improve operational efficiency, strengthen police response and enhance the capability of police personnel in addressing emerging security challenges.

Wenceslao also underscored the need for sustained cooperation between the police and the local government in preventing criminal activities, protecting residents and maintaining peace and order in San Carlos City. | GPB
