Assorted gadgets, worth nearly P1 million, were stolen from a store in Barangay 3, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, after an unidentified suspect broke into the establishment early morning yesterday, Oct. 11.
The Kabankalan City Component Police Station said the suspect broke into RF Chein Gadgets Kabankalan Branch along Zayco-Aquilles Avenue, at around 3 a.m., by destroying the padlocks on the store’s roll-up shutter and glass sliding door.
A roving security guard spotted the perpetrator leaving the establishment carrying a bag and attempted to confront him, but the suspect immediately mounted a motorcycle and fled toward Guanzon Street in Barangay 1, the police said.
The heist was caught on the store’s surveillance camera.
The stolen goods include brand-new Android phones, iPads, and iPhone stocks, valued at over P802,000.
In a social media statement, store owner Reychelle Faith Macabales Abelida expressed grief over the loss of their hard-earned business inventory, adding that nearly all of their device stocks were taken.
She clarified that the incident was not an inside job. | TMD
