The Victorias City Division emerged as the overall champion in the 6th Battle of Bots: Northern District Robotics Competition 2026 conducted by the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center at the Cadiz City Arena.
Those who captured the championships in sumobot were Zylert Caballero of Victorias Elementary School and Liam James Romero of Negros Occidental National Science High School.
The Zero Waste Mission Challenge High School title went to Liam Miguel Pico of Negros Occidental National Science High School.
Cadiz City Division also posted a strong showing, earning the second highest number of top-five finishes.
The competition showcased the robotics and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) skills of young learners from schools across the Northern District.
Winners and finalists will advance to represent the district in the 6th Battle of Bots: Provincial Robotics Competition.
Cadiz City Vice Mayor John Vincent Escalante welcomed the participants during the opening ceremonies, with City Councilors Claire Therese Consing and Kathrina Kaye Gustilo-Balbin underscoring the importance of robotics and STEM education in preparing students for future technological developments.
The event was organized with the support of the Cadiz City government under Mayor Salvador Escalante and the Office of Local Economic and Development Investment Promotions Division led by Lyn Regodos. | GPB
