Himamaylan City in Negros Occidental has officially sealed a sister city agreement with Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila in a move aimed at enhancing local governance and community development.
The signing of the memorandum of agreement (MOA) took place on Monday, Aug. 17 at Mandaluyong City Hall, bringing together two distinct urban centers with a shared commitment to improving public service delivery.
In a statement, Mayor Raymond Tongson described the partnership as a strategic avenue for both local government units to exchange best practices, innovative governance strategies, and community development programs.
Tongson said that the signing of sister city agreement opens new doors for mutual growth, resource sharing, and institutional learning.
Himamaylan City officials thanked Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos, Vice Mayor Anthony Suva, and the City Council for their warm reception and trust in building a meaningful relationship with the Negrense city.
With the MOA officially executed, both cities plan to implement collaborative initiatives designed to directly benefit their respective constituents, signaling a promising era of cooperation between the two local government units. | GPB
